PASSPORT AND VISA REQUIREMENTS:
For those entering Ireland, the passport and visa requirements are:

TRANSPORTATION:
We are relying on everyone to make their own transportation arrangements to Ballaghaderreen. For more transportation information, go to the Links web page then scroll down to Transportation

  • Check out flights on Aer Lingus and Delta, (US) or Ryan Air (England) to Shannon and Dublin airports. Rental cars are available at these airports. There are also flight connections from both Dublin and London to Knock Airport and rental cars there.

  • From Dublin, travel west via Highway N4 to Longford (76 miles) and then via N5 to Ballaghaderreen (40 miles). A road map may be viewed by clicking Route Dublin to Ballaghaderreen.

  • There is a bus to Ballaghaderreen and nearby towns operated by Bus Eireann from the main terminal Busaras in Dublin.

  • Castlerea and Boyle have train connections with Dublin. There is a bus but no rail connection from Castlerea and Boyle to Ballaghaderreen

HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS:
Reservations for rooms are to be made by yourself in Ballaghaderreen or nearby towns. Make reservations early!

  • The new Abbey Field Hotel in Ballaghadereen opened during 2008. Call 011-353-9498-62736. Web site is www.abbeyfieldhotel.ie. Email address is info@abbeyfieldhotel.ie.

  • Spellman's is a somewhat older guest house. Call 011-353-9498-60180.

  • Accommodation in Ballaghaderreen is also listed on  website www.ballaghaderreen.com by clicking "Business Directory" and then "Accommodations."

  • Other accommodations are shown on www.ballaghaderreen.com as available in Boyle and Castlerea (each about 15 miles eastward) and Charlestown (10 miles west), Gurteen (8 miles north) and Ballinlough (15 miles south).
